Kolten MacDonell is Health Services Manager, Primary Health Care and Department of Family Practice with Central Zone of Nova Scotia Health.  Kolten provides strategic and operational leadership to a broad range of Primary Health Care services and initiatives, including Newcomer Health Clinic.  Kolten's research interests center around understanding experiences of refugee patients and families, and primary care providers, throughout the transition from the focused primary care supports of Newcomer Health Clinic to community-based family practices.  Kolten is a registered dietitian by background, and holds a master's degree in Community Nutrition.  Outside Nova Scotia Health, Kolten teaches in the Department of Applied Human Nutrition at Mount Saint Vincent University.
